Soft Design Technology - SDT

Soft Design Technology – a proprietary design methodology that puts animals and marine life first. This technology has been developed, implemented and proven over the past 30 years of successful aquatic engineering.

Each SDT certified product is filtered through the following design parameters to ensure the maximum safety of animals while allowing them thrive in their environment.

Certified – SDT

SDT products are engineered for maximum safety and protection of marine life. All materials and designs are approved by marine biologists. Each product produced for oceanic and aquarium environments receives the Seasafe SDT certification.

Soft Edges and Surfaces

Our Soft Design Technology incorporates smooth corners, soft edges, snag proof animal friendly surfaces into all of our designs and products.

Aqua Grip

Our proprietary non-skid surface balances superior slip resistance without the damaging effects on marine life caused by traditional abrasive surfaces.

Sealed Construction

All FRP surfaces are sealed to prevent any water absorption and leaching into the marine environment.

SDT Pre-Assembly

Our SDT products can be pre-assembled for plug and play applications or a modular assembly option is available to prevent disruption to marine life. These assembly techniques prevent excess vibration and noises that may agitate marine life.

No Heavy Metal Use

Accredited 3rd party testing reports show EPA’s regulated heavy metals are not present in our products above established EPA regulatory requirements.

In-House Engineered

SDT certified products are engineered in house and final product can be stamped by our structural engineer if required.
